I am a licensed marriage & family therapist collaborating with youth and families in California. Some of my working experience over the past 10 years include serving foster youths, school-aged youths, and adults with mild, moderate and severe mental health challenges (inpatient and outpatient). In addition, I have extensive experience in providing therapy in community mental health settings and private practice.
Narrative therapy, EMDR, and NLP are my base theoretical foundations. I believe exploring the narratives of an individual and highlighting points of resiliency can empower and increase personal morale for those he works with. collaboratively. I utilizes a variety of other interventions as clinically indicated.
While I specialize in working with children, teens, transitional age youths, and families of color, I have continued to provide therapeutic support to people of all walks of life, in the communities that I serve. I have been a volunteer bereavement counselor for children & teens for many years and have extensive education, training and clinical experience in this area. I am also passionate about foster care on the non-profit side, actively creating change within the system through advocacy and creating spaces for continued conversations, for the marginalized teens.
In the non-profit arm of my private practice, I offer support to marginalized youths and families of color, who cannot sustainably afford therapeutic support otherwise. The goal is to provide a safe environment where people of color can be vulnerable, have opportunities for growth, instill/enhance the value of finding and maintaining strong community bonds, as well as to provide creative and healing outlets. Another goal I have is to advocate alongside other supportive providers to procure resources for people of color and work towards empowering themselves, as well as each other.
