I feel my primary responsibility as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is to foster a calm, safe and trusting environment with all clients through a warm and non-judgmental relationship. Therapy is a “we” program. My former career tracks in communication and education gives me the ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds and cultures with empathy and support to help you meet your goals.
As a private practice and community mental health therapist, I was able to experience working clinically with children, youth, adults and couples. I use an individually tailored approach to therapy matching the needs of each client in the present moment. I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which I practice with couples and individuals and remain active in that local community as a board of directors member. Other methods I use are psychodynamic, internal family systems, mindfulness, attachment and cognitive therapy. I am excited to be currently working on an EMDR certification.
Clients I work with often struggle with anxiety, general sadness, depression, life trauma, grief, substance use/recovery and couple’s relationship or communication issues. Working together we can achieve successful outcomes.
I have a Master degree from Palo Alto University in counseling. My internship was through the Pacific Center for Human Growth an LGBTQ+ affirming training center. I also have specialized training collaborating with consensual non-monogamy and KINK folks.
I am an experienced meditator, sea kayak instructor and dog companion. I choose to live life being curious while in search of joy.
