"I was struggling with heavily with my anxiety and depression. I got to a place where I couldn't see a way out until I spoke with Dr. Jayn. I then worked with Dr. Jayn for her 10-day intensive therapy…and it really worked! […] In these 10 days I had the equivalent of 5 years of trauma therapy." - S.S.
Anxiety Therapy in the Bay Area with QRC
Anxiety and depression - At Quick Results Counseling, we believe that anxiety should be looked at as a protection mechanism. Look at it like an invited guest. It is ONLY present under TWO circumstance; you are doing things you are NOT suppose to be doing, OR you are NOT doing the things you are suppose to be doing. Since you are struggling in facing your hurdles, it lead to anxiety. Think of it as if your internal thermostat is malfunctioning. When anxiety is not taken care of, it leads to depression, and a host of other mental health symptoms. Anxiety and depression are comorbid disorders; they tend to come together. More like chicken and egg, it shouldn't matter, which came first. Our goal is to NOT help you manage it. We want to explore the possibility of eliminating mental health symptoms, once and for all.
We believe therapy sessions should be extremely focused, and clients should NOT be in therapy for months, or years. In most cases, clients are able to discharge from therapy, within 12 - 24 sessions (around 3-6 months), especially if it's a life transition problem. It is the job of the clinicians at this practice, to get to the bottom of these issues, so any clinical diagnosis can be addressed, and if possible, eliminated, once and for all. Once you are functioning at your 2019 level, you will learn all the age appropriate tools, and skills. Armed with the new tools and skills, 95% of the work can start to happens outside of the therapy office - you will experiment, practice them, and keep tweaking your 2.0 version, till it works for you. Once you are at your optimal level of functioning, you should be able to graduate from sessions. In most cases, this should ONLY take about 12-24 sessions. The goal is for you to not work on these issues again.
If anxiety is changing the way you approach life, mental health therapy might be the answer. Fears, phobias, social anxiety or avoidance, obsessive thoughts, and panic attacks aren’t a normal part of life—in fact, they’re often signs of an anxiety disorder that can negatively affect your relationships, your work, and even just your daily tasks of life. Fortunately, you don't have to suffer anymore. At Quick Results Counseling, anxiety therapy in our Bay Area clinic—whether in-person or online—provides counseling sessions that are designed to help youconfront and overcome the triggers and issues that send your anxiety spiraling out of control. Unlike medications that can dull your senses and only treat the symptoms of the problems, anxiety therapy targets the problem itself, by uncovering the root of the anxiety and arming you with the tools and skills to combat your anxiety, first with therapy and then eventually on your own without further therapy.
Anxiety therapy in our Bay Area clinic also helps you to learn how to minimize or avoid anxiety in the first place. Our therapists can teach you how to relax and develop your problem-solving skills. With a renewed sense of positivity and a mindset that diffuses the things that send you over the edge, therapy can help you identify and overcome your anxiety by doing a deep-dive into what makes it all tick. Since no two anxiety treatments are exactly the same, our counselors will provide anxiety evaluation and anxiety treatment specialized for you.
At Quick Results Counseling, we believe in a rapid and efficient approach to counseling, rather than therapy for life. Instead of long-term counseling for multiple sessions and visits that often do little more than repeat the discussions from the previous week, we believe that counseling should focus on your core issues so that you can quickly get back to your life—an improved life! At Quick Results Counseling, this takes only 12-24 sessions (only 3-6 months), instead of years or indefinitely.
However, that's not to minimize the effects of anxiety. For some, anxiety goes beyond worry into a debilitating dread of future events or an inability to get beyond a traumatic past event. But even if you don't beat it through some sort of revolutionary breakthrough, most people report significant improvement in just a handful of therapy sessions, which is great news for those that have been suffering from anxiety for years or the majority of their lives.
For the most part, anxiety therapy in the Bay Area (as well as in most other metropolitan areas) is based on CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT is a common therapy for anxiety and other mental health issues, in which negative feelings and emotions are replaced with healthier, more positive ones that help you take control of your anxieties. CBT is extremely effective and is thus the most widely used therapy for anxiety disorders. Research has shown that CBT can help with general anxiety disorders, phobias, panic disorders, social anxieties such as agoraphobia, and several other mental health issues.
By combining cognitive therapy—which examines negative thoughts—with behavior therapy—which examines your behavior and response to external stimuli—CBT shows that it's not the triggers that are creating our anxiety, but rather our mindset and our response to the triggers themselves. In other words, it's not what's happening that drives your anxiety but how you feel about what's happening.
