As a human, I understand that anxiety often takes the lead when going through significant life changes, whether it includes moving to a new place or moving into a different stage of life and relationships. As a therapist, I believe that growth happens when a strong sense of safety is present. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where growth and healing can begin. If you are currently feeling stuck in an unsatisfying cycle or an unhealthy pattern of behaviors, I will be honored to support you in finding a way to a healthier relationship with yourself and with the world around you.
In my clinical practice, I am fortunate to have worked with individuals in various stages of life, including teenagers, young adults, adults, and older adults. I have also worked to support the growth and stories of many populations, including immigrants, refugees, Asian and Asian-American community, and LGBTQ+ community. Through my 7 years of clinical experience, I have encountered different people who were facing a variety of challenges in life, including anxiety, depression, trauma-based symptoms, psychosis, grief, disordered eating, and relationship issues. Throughout the process of working with these populations, I have noticed that the lack of understanding regarding the reasons we do what we do, combined with the presence of emotional dysregulation, often lead people to feel a loss of control and powerless in their own life.
My treatment modalities include attachment-based approach, trauma-informed care, mindfulness and aspects of Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Furthermore, as a member of the Asian community, I profoundly believe in the benefits of relational growth. However, I also have learned the value of investing in oneself and its effects on their relationship with others. When we nurture our relationship with ourselves, we are also creating space for our external relationships to grow. In therapy, I aspire to support you in finding clarity in life by improving your relationships with your past, present, and future self, and in doing so, shine a light on your views of others and the world around you. Your insight and awareness, paired with the skills to regulate your overwhelming emotions, can lead to a lasting behavior and lifestyle change. By learning these skills, you can create a healthier relationship with yourself and the world around you.
