"I was struggling with heavily with my anxiety and depression. I got to a place where I couldn't see a way out until I spoke with Dr. Jayn. I then worked with Dr. Jayn for her 10-day intensive therapy…and it really worked! […] In these 10 days I had the equivalent of 5 years of trauma therapy." - S.S.

Trauma, child sexual abuse, loss, grief, and phobia treatment at QRC
At Quick Results Counseling, we have clinicians who specialize in general trauma, childhood trauma, and sexual trauma.. Our trauma clinicians use somatic, and EMDR treatment modalities to get to the negative cognitions attached to these trauma memories, and shifts them, within your body. Your body remembers everything. By working on the corrective experiences, and changing the story, your central nervous system will have a new narrative; thus decreasing the emotional intensity. It is natural for your body to move towards fight, flight or freeze responses, in the amygdala. With somatic, and EMDR treatment modalities, trauma neural network are moved from the amygdala to processing it fully in the hippocampus region of the brain. Once the trauma is processed, and you function at current level of functioning, our clinicians will move it to regular executive functioning in the prefrontal cortex.
Long after a traumatic event has passed, trauma sufferers can spend years or even a lifetime dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event. This is a form of anxiety with long-lasting effects, and it’s know as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or P.T.S.D. Unfortunately, trauma sufferers often never get any help to address their P.T.S.D., and as a result, they often never get over the trauma, making it very difficult to have a normal life.
People who suffer from P.T.S.D. often also suffer from other mental health problems such as anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia, memory problems, problems with thinking or concentrating, flashbacks, and surges of unpleasant emotions each time a triggering event or thought presents itself. Over the course of years or decades, these problems have a negative effect on the lives of P.T.S.D. sufferers.
Here at Quick Results Counseling, we have trauma therapists who are ready to help you in dealing with your past, so that you can move forward to a much better life. We know that P.T.S.D. can feel like an emotional death sentence, where even the smallest thing can send you right back into the hell of the past traumatic event. The good news is that P.T.S.D. can be successfully treated with therapy and the right mindset, and it might only take weeks or months to achieve a breakthrough. In fact, we believe that most patients can get significant results in as few as 12 to 24 sessions. Our goal is to arm you with the tools and skills that you’ll need to eventually manage your P.T.S.D. on your own, without future therapy.
With our trauma therapy, you'll learn how to deal with the anxiety that drives your disorder, how to improve and reduce your symptoms, and how to restore and increase your self-esteem and confidence.
Generally, PTSD therapy and other types of trauma therapy involve cognitive behavioral therapy (or C.B.T.), which is a combination of cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy that seeks to change the patterns and behaviors that run your life. The goal of this trauma therapy is to figure out what thoughts and beliefs are driving the fear, and to replace those thoughts and beliefs with ones that create a happier and more well-adjusted life.
One form of CBT is cognitive processing therapy (or C.P.T.), which involves a 12-week treatment course for trauma sufferers that includes weekly sessions of an hour to an hour-and-a-half. By starting with the traumatic event and working up to how it's affecting your day-to-day life, you'll be sharing your thoughts and feelings in discussions and writing—all intended to help you examine how the trauma fits in with your life today and how you can discover ways to live with it without it taking over.
It's all about helping you understand what you can and can't control, and teaching you to identify and manage your actions, thoughts, and feelings. Ideally, you'll reach the position where you understand and accept the trauma, so that it no longer impacts your life on a daily basis.
