Firstly, I would like to share that I truly enjoy helping others. I am happy to be able to connect and assist you with moving past struggles to a new, healthier version of you. I enjoy assisting others in breaking down complex concepts into palatable, digestible ideas and practices. My goal is to help others better cope with mental and emotional issues, alter patterns, and gain insight into their mind, feelings, and behaviors. I hope to build a solid therapeutic relationship with you- as an individual- through listening, collaborating, and open communication. I want you to feel comfortable and heard in therapy. I want to provide a safe environment for processing your inner workings. My personality is friendly, non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate. I have practiced as a psychotherapist for almost seven years. I have experience working with ages three to eighty-seven, in a variety of settings. I have experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment, grief, couples, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and more. I apply an integrative approach to therapy. I feel as though melding multiple modalities assists with tailoring treatment to the individual.
In treatment, we would begin with a collaborative, client-centered discussion about agreed upon and pertinent goals. During this initial phase, we would also engage in a biopsychosocial assessment. This will help us gather information on patterns, issues, strengths, likes, dislikes, symptoms, etc. This assists us in creating a unique treatment plan that acts as a guideline for your healing. The next phase includes incorporation of various modalities and interventions- applied to help you get to your treatment goals. I usually utilize a humanistic approach and marry it with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT ), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), family systems therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, existential therapy, psychodynamic, and/or eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR)- relative to your distinctive needs. I am trained in EMDR, which helps people unblock emotional and neural processes or networks and leads to adaptive and overall higher quality functioning. It helps people “let go” of bothersome memories and associated feelings, so that they can move on from them to a more liberated sense of self. I also work with clients on skill building, insight building, self exploration, overcoming habits, dealing with grief, coping with past trauma, creating concrete steps forward, existential dilemmas, coming of age crisis, stage of life changes, grief, abandonment, stress management, spirituality, depression, anxiety, feeling “stuck”, relationship issues, trauma, self esteem, and self empowerment. The philosophy and intention of my therapy is to treat people on a vibrational, soul level. I want you to feel as though you can heal from within and be able to share that with others. I love that the healing and growth one finds in therapy can continue to expand over time. It is one of the main reasons why I chose to become a psychotherapist. Self growth has been paramount in my life and I hope to be able to guide others through their own journey of self growth. I understand that the self healing journey can feel isolating at times, so I want to share one of the most important things that I have learned as a therapist- that you are not alone in your struggles. Everyone struggles in different capacities and we can learn and grow from these struggles to become better versions of ourselves. I hope to have the opportunity to help you to overcome, grow, and heal.
